Author Spotlight with Gemma Weir

Today’s Author Spotlight is with Gemma Weir, Author of MC Romance Series Archer’s Creek

Interview conducted by Charlotte Johnson

Firstly, I want to say thank you on behalf of Book Obsession Confessions for agreeing to do this interview for us! It’s a pleasure to have you be a part of this!

Q:  So you write about an MC called Doomsday Sinners, what can you tell us about them? Who are the main characters?

A:  The Doomsday Sinners are not your classic 1% MC club, they skirt the grey areas of the law and generally don’t do anything too illegal. They’re a family and they look after each other, a lot of the members come from complicated backgrounds and so when they find a real family they are all loyal to a fault.

The president is called Anders, he’s a father figure for a lot of the members and a nice guy, but he has a hard edge that means you shouldn’t cross him.

Blade is the VP, he has a dark, dangerous past that he feels makes him beyond redemption. You can read his story in Blade.

Daisy was the prospect at the beginning of series, but is now a full member of the club. He’s young, a bit of a manwhore but he has a heart of gold and once he finds his Angel he really develops and matures. You can read his story in Daisy.

Echo is my ex military badass. He’s bossy and demanding, a total alphahole!! Once he meets his woman, he’s single minded in claiming her and he won’t let anything or anyone take her from him. You can read his story in Echo.

Readers have had a chance to meet several other members including Puck, Sleaze, Smoke, Park, Lord and KC.

Q:  Marry, fuck or kill out of your characters?

A:  Marry Echo, fuck Blade and kill Mimi 😉

Q:  If you could live as one of your female characters for one day, who would it be and why?
Personally, mine would be Nikki 😉

A:  I’d live as Liv for the Day. I think she’s the most fun of my female characters, plus she gets Echo.

Q:  What is number one on your bucket list?

A:  Number one was write a book, lol, errrr TICK!!!!

Q:  How many books do you have planned for the Doomsday Sinners?

A:  That’s a good question. Honest answer is, I don’t really know. I think there’s plenty of scope to write at least four or five more books, but I also have a spinoff series planned that I can’t write until the Archer’s Creek series is finished.

Q:  Your three published books are all based on the MC (motorcycle club)… Do you have any plans to write a different sub-genre?

A:  I love MC books. I think it allows me to write unapologetically alpha male characters, but never say never.

Q:  Tell us about your writing habits. Certain time of day? Specific room? Music playing? Any weird ritual?

A:  I have my own office and in theory I should write in there, but most the time I end up on the sofa with my laptop. I tend to write during the day while my children are at school and then again in the evenings once they are in bed. I like to drink peppermint tea, and recently I need it to be quiet.

Q:  You write both male and female POV’S. What is it like writing from a male’s POV and how does it differ from writing a female’s POV?

A:  I love writing male POV’s. I find them much less complicated than the female POV. Weirdly, I find incredibly easy to slip into my male characters’ heads and describe how these women knock them on their arses.

Q:  If you could recommend a book that wasn’t one of yours, what would it be? And why?

A:  I’m on a PNR kick at the minute, so I’d highly recommend the Kit Davenport series by Tate James. It’s a paranormal reverse harem and its hilarious and incredibly sexy.

Q:  What is the best thing about being an author?

A:  EVERYTHING!!! But the main thing is seeing my characters come to life. These characters have been chatting away in my head for years and it’s amazing to finally let them speak.

Thank You So Much Gemma! xx
